A Disabled Man’s Gift to His Country.

‘Emmanuel’s Gift’ a documentary film that shines a light on a destitute, disabled man from Ghana who changes minds, lives, and laws.
Narrated by Oprah Winfrey, this film chronicles the life of Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah, a young Ghanaian man born with a severely deformed right leg, who today, against incalculable odds, as the disabled are often disdained or even murdered at birth in Africa, is opening minds, hearts and doors—and effecting social, political and legislative change throughout his country. While Emmanuel's message is vital: people with disabilities are valuable contributors to any society, his method is inspirational. Emmanuel begins his quest with a bicycle ride, over 600 kilometers, across Ghana with one leg - and continues to spread his vision with grit and resolve. Lisa and Nancy documented Emmanuel's plight for over a year, shooting over 100 hours of unforgettable imagery.

After winning several Audience Awards and Best Feature Length Documentary Film awards on the festival circuit, the film went on to have a theatrical release and subsequent airings on ESPN and OWN. And Oprah Winfrey would go on to present Emmanuel with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPY’s. Among those in the viewing audience was Ghana’s President Kufour who invited Emmanuel to become the first disabled citizen to visit the Presidential Palace. Six months later, Ghana’s Parliament passed a Disability Bill guaranteeing unparalleled rights for the disabled community.

“I have been a witness to the magic that Lisa, Nancy and their entire Lookalike team bring to their work for the better part of 30 years. When it comes to storytelling and creating life-changing content, there is absolutely no one better. In this day and age of disposable content, Lookalike creates memorable content that sticks with you… and that is a gift!”
